User Guide

Make sure that the TGMobile translation application is connected to tgmobile.tgserveronline.net

When you open TGMobile you are presented with the login dialog.  If you are new to TGMobile, then you must first “register” with the system.  To do so, click on the Registration tab.

Once you have filled out and submitted your registration information, you will be known by the system and searchable by those others on the system that wish to look for you.

Occasionally, you may get a message for us indicating that we have relocated the hosted servers for TGMobile.  If that occurs, simply go to the Settings tab and key in the new server address for TGMobile.

Personal Translator

You always have the choice to switch between chat rooms and a personal translator. In personal translator, choose your source and target language using the button in the upper left corner of the screen.

Start a Chat

If you wish to start a new chat with friends, go to the Conversations tab and then click the + button to create a new, private chat room. Once you have created a chat room, you may then start inviting already approved friends into the chat room.

If someone invites you into their private chat room, you will see the message shown to the right on your screen, asking if you would like to accept the invitation to chat with this person, plus anyone else they may have invited to their private chat room.

You can be involved in more than one active chat at a time.  All active chats will appear under the Conversations tab and each one can be selected individually by you.

Participating in a chat

All chat text will come to your screen in the language you have chosen as your primary language.  You can change that choice at any time by clicking on the down arrow folder in the upper right hand corner.
To participate, simply type in your text and hit the send button.  All of the other participants will see your text in the language that they have selected.

Adding Contacts

In order to invite friends to chat, they must first be in your contacts list.  So, in advance, go online, click on the Contacts tab, and use the + key to search for, or define contacts.  As you select to “add” a contact, that person will receive a message asking if they will accept being a contact for you.

At any time, you can go to the Contacts tab and see who is online and who is not in your list of contacts.  You can only invite online contacts to an active chat.

To Exit

Finally, when you are done either  being a participant or an owner of a chat, please use the button in the upper right corner to choose to “End Conversation” or “Exit Conversation”.
